A Breakthrough in Conversational AI

CEO of Google and Alphabet

It’s a thrilling time in the world of technology as researchers are translating cutting-edge findings into products that benefit people. This is exactly the journey that the creators of Bard have been on with large language models. Two years ago, they introduced next-generation language and conversation capabilities with the Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA).

Bard, an experimental conversational AI service powered by LaMDA, is now being made available to trusted testers prior to its public release in the coming weeks. The aim of Bard is to bring together the vast knowledge of the world and the intelligence and creativity of large language models. It uses information from the web to deliver fresh and high-quality responses.

Use Bard to simplify complex topics, like explaining new discoveries from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to a 9-year-old.

Similarity between chatgpt and Bard

ChatGPT and Bard are both conversational AI systems developed by OpenAI. Both utilize large language models to understand and generate human-like responses to user inputs. However, ChatGPT is a general-purpose language model, trained on a diverse range of texts from the internet, while Bard is an experimental conversational AI service specifically designed to combine the world’s knowledge with the intelligence of OpenAI’s language models. Another key difference is that ChatGPT is widely available, while Bard is still in its testing phase.

In my opinion, I view the release of Bard as a significant milestone in the world of conversational AI. The combination of the world’s knowledge and the power of language models has the potential to provide valuable insights and help people understand complex topics in a simple and engaging way. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of the testing phase and the progress that will be made in the quality and speed of Bard’s responses.
